The Eagle River Lions hosted a fund raiser for Shawn Stockwell on May 9th 2008.  Diane Mucha rallyed the community to support this event and raised over $25,000 through live and silent auction sales, food sales, bracelet sales, split the pot raffle, straight donations, and the $1,000 Chugiak Lions Club donation.  The attached pictures show the Eagle River High School Jazz Band, the Chugiak High School Navy Jr. ROTC, and members of our community that supported this event. 

ERHS Air Force Junior ROTC cadets helped on Fri., May 9th, by carrying the items from the trucks into the building and setting out all of the items on the tables in the correct order. Chugiak Naval Junior ROTC cadets helped set up the tables, chairs, tablecloths and posters on Thurs., May 8th, and "worked" the auction on Fri., May 9th. Mended Hearts - Anchorage (support group for adults with heart disease) members and Mended Little Hearts of Anchorage (support group for families with children with heart disease or defects) members worked the auction - food concession, check out, and wrote out live auction bids, etc. ERHS Jazz Band provided the music for entertainment. GOAT and Jimmy from The Morning Moo - KASH 107.5 were the auctioneers/emcees. Alaskans from Wasilla to Anchorage - Majel Toyofuku, Lynn Klippel, Kim Moore, Amanda Bradley, Nicole Moore, Rame Weaver, Marsha Meunier, Aurora Blucher, Carolyn Knowles, and Tanya Bell helped at various auction jobs. Trista Stockwell, Shawn's mom, created the DVD presentation about Shawn and wrote the letter that was read aloud.
